The Central Agency for Public Tenders has approved awarding a tender for a project to supply and extend 300 kV ground cables in Al-Sabah Medical District, at a total cost of 20.27 million dinars.

The Ministry of Electricity and Water sources told a local Arabic daily that the tender comes within its efforts of the Transmission Networks Sector to develop and modernize the power network within the Al-Sabah Medical District, where some new projects and expansions of buildings are happening within the region, including New maternity hospital and power supply needs to be increased.

The sources added during the previous period, a number of transmission stations were installed and operated in the region, in addition to launching a number of other stations which will be installed during the next stage to strengthen the network, explaining that the cables to be installed link the transmission stations to each other, enabling the network to bear the burden and raise Its operational efficiency, especially with different pressures during the summer period.

In a related context, the agency approved the modernization work of the electrical control room in the Doha West station, which will cost 5.590 million dinars, as part of the various periodic maintenance works carried out by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy on its various stations, especially inside the West Doha station.
