Director of the Cancer Patients Fund at the Kuwait Cancer Society Jamal Al-Saleh revealed the fund provides annual assistance to 500 cancer patients in the country, stressing that the fund has continued its work since its establishment nearly 15 years ago, to support people with cancer, especially those who were dismissed from their jobs because of this sickness.

Al-Saleh pointed out that the ‘patients’ aid’ provides monthly assistance to patients in need, to continue treatment without interruption, in addition to helping Kuwaiti patients in need of financial assistance, or their companions during the treatment period, as well as helping residents who cannot afford to pay for the medical tests.

He stated the fund has provided assistance to more than 5,000 sick residents who wanted to return to their respective countries, whose treatment had not been successful, indicating that the number of cancer patients in Kuwait exceeds 2,200 annually, and the livelihoods of many of them are interrupted due to illness.
