The Council of Ministers agreed to recommend the increase in the fees of the General Organization of Ports, an Arab paper reported. One of the lifted fees corresponded to the exploitation of the corporation’s lands, whether for expansion or construction, as well as boat docks and ship docks.

Local sources also indicated that the decision came after the recommendation of the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers, as well as following a broader path to increase non-oil revenues in the general budget.

The approved amendments were proposed by the Board of Directors of the Corporation in 2019, and were compared to the prices imposed in the ports of the GCC countries.
