Kuwait’s Cabinet expressed on Tuesday its sorrow and commiserations over the passing of the late Amir His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, describing him as a “virtuous father, patron and leader of humanitarianism.”
After a meeting at Seef Palace, led by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad AlSabah, the Cabinet said the late Amir died in the United States at 1600 (Kuwait time), according to Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh.
The late Amir’s passing follows a “glorious legacy of sacrifice, generosity, accomplishments and commitment to principles and ideals in the service of his country and Arab and Islamic nations.” The statement went on to mention that Sheikh Sabah was known to have “stood in support of justice, peace and human dignity, wherever that may have been. “With his passing, Kuwait, the Arab and Islamic regions and humanity as a whole, have lost a distinguished icon.” The late ruler made “unforgettable contributions” in support of humanity, and is responsible for envisaging a new school of thought in diplomacy, it added.
