The Cabinet on Monday held its weekly session at Sief Palace under chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Following the session, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah said the Cabinet welcomed the safe return of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the homeland after a private visit abroad.
The Cabinet was then briefed with the interpellation motion filed by MP Shuaib Al-Muwaizri against Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al- Mohammad Al-Sabah.
The Cabinet, in this respect, affirmed that interpellation is a constitutional right for every National Assembly member, stressing however full solidarity with; and collective responsibility towards the minister, whose diplomatic efforts and performance, both regionally and internationally, are highly praised and prized by the country’s political leadership.
After a briefing by acting health minister Fahad Al-Shuraiaan, the Cabinet urged citizens and residents to continue adhering to ongoing health precautions in light; and despite significant decline in recent COVID-19 cases. Then, the Cabinet addressed liquidity issues relating to financing state housing projects after a briefing by Finance Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulwahab Al-Rusheid.
The Cabinet extended deepest condolences to the Moroccan leadership and people on the tragic demise of ‘Rayan’; the five-year-old boy who perished just after being rescued from falling to his own death in a well. It also discussed regional and international developments.
