The Cabinet decided, in its weekly meeting, today, Monday, headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, to allow direct flights to (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Britain, Spain, the United States of America, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, France, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Greece, Switzerland), as of Thursday, July 1, 2021, provided that any provision inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution shall be repealed, Arabic daily Al Rai reported.

The Cabinet also decided to allow citizens and their first-degree relatives and their companions from domestic workers who received at least a dose of the anti-Coronavirus vaccine approved in Kuwait to cross from land and sea border crossings, as of tomorrow, Tuesday, and that this decision be implemented until Saturday, July 31 2021.

The Council decided to open the land and sea borders for all who have received two doses of the approved vaccine to Kuwait and product companies (Pfizer – AstraZeneca – Moderna) or a single dose of the vaccine product from Johnson & Johnson company, as of Sunday , August 1 2021.

The Cabinet presented an explanation by the Minister of Health, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah on the latest developments related to the Corona epidemic at the global and local levels, in light of the spread of new mutated strains and the high number of infected people around the world.

The Minister of Health also briefed the Council on developments in the epidemiological situation of Kuwait for the pandemic in light of the latest data and statistics that show the big jump in the number of injuries and occupancy rates for (Covid 19) wards and intensive care.

The Council of Ministers warned of the consequences of negligence in adhering to health requirements, including the demand to take the anti-Covid-19 vaccine to preserve the health of the individual and society, and the need not to pay attention to rumors and incorrect information about vaccines, especially in light of the developments in the spread of the epidemic and its accelerating repercussions. Which requires the concerted efforts of all as a common societal responsibility to reduce the transmission of infection in order to avoid the renewed spread of the epidemic.
