British School of Kuwait (BSK) organized a press and media awards event on 25 May at the BSK campus.Media Director Kefah Al Mutawa inaugurated the event with his opening remarks and introductions, which was followed by Marketing, Admissions and Communications Manager,.Emma Bowie, delivering the welcome address.

The event started with some music by Miss t Director of Performance Music, Emily Jeffcot, then played her two beautiful renditions, the first the hornpipe by G.F.Handel , followed by Nassam Alaynal Hawa , Fairouz.After that Arabic teacher Adnan Fares, had a few words followed by a poetry recitation from his student Ahmad Al Najdi, year 7 with his own composition entitled The Press. It then continued with more fun and entertainment including a quiz organized by Lucian and Refaat along with games and a raffle draw..

This was followed by a drama monologue performed by Daniel Al-Begain, Year 10 with a LAMDA performance piece titled ‘Opening Night’ by Caroline Petherbridge. The winners of the quiz, games and raffle draw were then announced and the prizes were given out to all the winners .

BSK Founder and DIrector, Madam Vera Al Mutawa MBE then gave a speech on the event and this was followed by the press awards being presented by Madam Vera Al Mutawa and Miss Bowie to The TImes Kuwait, Al Qabas, Al Anba, Arab Times, Al Seyassah, Al Jarida , Annahar and Al Rai.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Kefah Al Mutawa followed by some light refreshments .
