In what appears to be a breakthrough in the file of those non-graduate expatriates who are 60 years Minister of Justice, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, will meet with representatives of the concerned authorities to elicit their views to determine the government’s optimal mechanism to issue work permits for these category of expatriates.

Al-Rai has learned Al-Jalawi is expected to meet next Thursday members of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Board of Directors and members of ‘Fatwa and Sharia’ for the legal opinion.

It is noteworthy to mention former Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman had talked of 500 dinars to renew the residence permit in addition to the private health insurance. The sources spoke of Al-Jalawi’s seriousness to resolve this file, which has remained suspended for a long time.

The Kuwait Insurance Federation had submitted a proposal earlier to set the value of an annual insurance premium for one resident who is 60 years old and over at 500 dinars, including a set of health cover throughout the entire insurance year at a value of 10,000 dinars for all services covered by the insurance.
