The Kingdom of Bhutan recently celebrated its 105th National Day with a grand reception held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Kuwait H.E. Dasho Tashi Phuntsog, along with Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mijrin Al-Roumi, Director of the Asia Department at Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cut the ceremonial cake to inaugurate the event, which was followed by exchange of greetings and a dinner reception. Addressing a gathering of members of the diplomatic corps, dignitaries and special invitees, the ambassador lauded the close and friendly relations between Bhutan and Kuwait that were built on the basis of trust and confidence.
The ambassador pointed out that the Bhutanese embassy in Kuwait is one of only six diplomatic missions abroad and the only one in the Middle-East. Ambassador Phuntsog also praised the growing cultural cooperation between Kuwait and Bhutan that was highlighted by the visit of the Doegar Punsum Cultural troupe that performed on the sidelines of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Summit that was recently held in Kuwait.
