British Academy of Sport (BAS) organized its 5th Awards Evening at the British School of Kuwait (BSK), which saw the participation of more than 250 parents and students. The Head Coaches selected the best 83 students from almost 2000 who registered for the nine Sports Activities from September until today: Basketball, Football, Roller Skating, Gymnastics, Kick Boxing, Swimming, Tennis, Karate and Zumba. This evening was focused on the students and the skills and experiences they have acquired at BAS.

The students from each sport had received the following awards: The Most Improved, The Best Technique and Coach Award.

Apart from these categories, BAS offered two special Awards for the following students: Remas and Retaj AlHusainan who received the Global Traveler Award as they both  completed six international sports trip with BAS and the second award was the Special Achievement for Sonia Pinto, who won two medals at the Swimming Gala and currently, she is doing three BAS activities: Swimming, Karate and Zumba.

Sonia is an elite member at BAS since 2017, and she was awarded for the second consecutive year at the BAS Sports Awards.

During this special evening, the BAS Director Lucian Anisia handed over the awards to the students alongside Madame Vera Al Mutawa MBE,Romanian Ambassador H.E. Daniel Tanase, Greek Ambassador H.E. Andreas Papadakis, and Serbian Ambassador H.E. Vladimir Kohut. They were joined on stage by Seniors Managers from BAS Sponsors : ABC, 4Fest, ITL, KIB, Royale Hayat and Crowne Plaza Hotel.

BAS had this year very important achievements apart from the regular courses including two International sports trips where 40 students enjoyed over 20 sports activities. The first trip was in October to Romania and the second trip was in April to Dublin in Ireland and to Belfast in Northen Ireland.

Once again this year BAS is the only Academy who organized two International tournaments between the Embassies in Kuwait: In November, The 5th Men’s International Basketball Tournament ‘Challenge Cup’ with the Romanian Embassy.

In February, organized with the Greek Embassy was the 6th Men’s international Volleyball Tournament, ‘the Independence Cup’.

The other programs that BAS offer every year are the Summer Camps where more than 300 students enjoy the Swimming and the Sports Camp. This year BAS will run three Camps as well for three weeks: from Sunday, 9 June until 4 July, 2019

Apart from this Awards Evening, BAS will host the 4th edition of the Swimming Gala, which will be on Saturday, 1 June where the advanced students will participate in swimming competitions and they will also receive trophies and medals.

BAS continues to lead the way in Kuwait as the only Sports Academy offering more than nine Sports Courses for children between 3-16 years old.
