After a suspension of about four months, work resumed in government departments on the first official day, of the start of the ‘second phase’ of the return to normalcy plan. Some departments were thronged by a large number of visitors, especially the departments of births and deaths and the departments of ‘electricity’, to finish up on paperwork, reports Al-Seyassah daily.  In the ministries departments, the employees followed the health requirements such as wearing gloves and masks, and the visitors also adhered to the health guidelines issued by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Health.

Despite stressing that appointments had to be booked online in the majority of government departments,  several visitors arrived who did not book their appointments online, and were turned away. They were instructed to communicate either through ‘WhatsApp’, or through its websites. Director of the Department of the Ministries Complex, Abdel Nasser Al-Abdullah, confirmed that the administration has taken several precautionary measures that would reduce the outbreak of the coronavirus, including, installing thermal cameras at all entrances to the department to measure the temperature of employees and visitors in the future.

He said in a press statement an administrative circular has been issued to all government agencies to inform them of the precautionary procedures to be followed for the safety of all, as visitors will be allowed to enter only if a prior appointment is done through the automated system of the concerned authority. He added that things inside the departments are stable and under control, as a sterilization process is done daily and includes even elevators and escalators, with the hope to finally end the scourge of the epidemic from Kuwait.
