The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs issued a statement about stopping the payment of salaries of some imams and muezzins saying this is done upon the directives of the Minister of Justice, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Promoting Integrity Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Majed to solve the problem of disbursing the salaries of some non-Kuwaiti imams and muezzins.
The Awqaf affirmed that it is making all efforts to end this delay and pay to those who are entitled for it so as not to violate the rights of its employees. However, this will be done in coordination with the Financial Controllers Authority, reports a local Arabic daily.
