The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport said in a statement to an Arab paper that it is developing a road system surrounding The Avenues Mall. The roads, bridges and other services will be constructed between the Fifth Ring Road, Al-Ghazali Road and Muhammad Bin Al-Qasim Street. The project aims to construct and maintain a set of bridges in addition to a flyover bridge. Its goal is to reduce traffic congestion in the area.
The paper mentioned one of the project’s objectives which is to sort out engineering solutions to alleviate the problem by facilitating the movement of vehicles on the roads surrounding the area and improving the service on the main and internal roads, Al-Ghazali and the Fifth Ring Road.
In addition, the developments will be made on the intersection of Al-Ghazali Road with the Ring Road, the Fifth Ring Road in the direction of Jahra between the Airport Road and Al-Ghazali, the road linking Airport Road No. 55 and the Ring Road in the direction of Jahra, as well as, an internal road between No. 2 and the service road. The proposed parallel to the Fifth Ring Road, the road linking the Fifth Ring Road and Al-Ghazali Road in the direction of Shuwaikh, and the intersection of the Fifth Ring Road with Muhammad bin Al-Qasim are also included.
