Authorities warned bus drivers to face deportation starting next Friday if they do not abide by traffic rules, such as stopping at non-parking areas. The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Traffic and Operations Affairs, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, stressed that bus drivers should comply with the instructions set by the ministry and only park in designated parking spaces.

The decision came during a meeting chaired by Major General Al-Sayegh, in the presence of the Acting Assistant Director of Violations Department, Brigadier Majid Al-Sahli, and the technical office in the administration of the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs with representatives of Kuwaiti public transport companies on Sunday, 21 August 2022.

The officials discussed the various violations committed by bus drivers, the problems they face in their work, and the appropriate methods for dealing with them. In this context, it was agreed to cooperate and coordinate between the General Directorate of Traffic and public transport companies to provide parking for passengers to get on and off on public roads in the Capital Governorate.
