In a joint operation, the Criminal Security Sector collaborated with the General Administration of Customs to successfully thwart an attempt to smuggle 2 kilograms of narcotic drugs via air freight.

The Security Media Department released a statement, saying, “By enhancing search and investigative efforts through the General Administration for Narcotics Control (International Control Department) targeting drug smugglers, crucial information was gathered indicating an impending attempt to smuggle narcotics through an air freigh postal parcel.”

The department further mentioned, “In response, a coordinated effort was initiated with the General Administration of Customs.

An elaborate plan was devised, leading to the arrest of the Asian suspect, while in the process of receiving the postal package.”

The statement emphasized, “Upon inspection, it was discovered that the package was disguised as a table lamp (lampshades), and the narcotics were hidden in a discreet manner. The package has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for necessary legal actions.”
