Armed robbery at money-exchange outlet in Al Jahra

An unknown person broke into a money exchange outlet in Al Jahra, and threatened the cashier with a machete. He stabbed the cashier and made off with KD6,000, and escaped to an unknown destination, Al Rai daily reported.

A security source said to the daily that arresting the accused is a matter of time only, and surveillance cameras have caught his profile. The injured is in stable condition and is expected to recover soon.

Police later arrested the suspected robber, Al Qabas newspaper reported, citing a security source. The 25-year-old suspect is an ex-con Kuwaiti who is a drug addict, the source added.

Police identified the attacker after they examined the surveillance cameras in the place and arrested him in “record time,” the source said.

The suspect had half of the stolen money in his possession at the time of arrest.
