The Misdemeanor Court of Appeal has scheduled a session for January 14, 2024, to review the appeal filed by the Fashionista against the previous verdict that sentenced her to 3 years imprisonment with hard labor and a one-year suspension of her driving license.
The charges relate to a traffic accident resulting in the death of two individuals. The court has further directed the civil case to the relevant department for consideration, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Public Prosecution has levied multiple charges against the accused, including manslaughter, accidental injury, driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, running a red light, reckless driving, operating a vehicle without valid insurance or a license, causing damage to others’ property, and damaging public property.
In response, the defendant’s defense has called for the annulment of the issued verdict and her acquittal. They have also submitted a request to expedite the trial session to the presiding judge of the circuit.
