As part of the ministry’s efforts to increase revenues in parallel with controlling waste and rationalizing spending, the annual auction of devices — furniture and equipment recovered by educational districts and schools (scrap) has fetched 64 thousand dinars.

Matrouk Al-Mutairi, Director of the Supply and Warehouse Department at the Ministry, told Al-Rai that after the auction, which took place under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education will sign the contract with the winning company within days to supply 55 thousand new chairs and tables.

He pointed out that his administration will organize another auction when its outdoor yards are filled with these damaged equipment and devices, stressing at the same time the preparation for the next academic year through the practices of printing books, signing part of the bus contracts, issuing a new tender for furniture, in addition to another tender to provide vehicles for transportation to avoiding direct contracting.
