The Public Relations and Media Department of the Kuwait Fire Service reported that an elderly Expatriate woman suffocated in a building fire in Salmiya, Friday, Al Anbaa reported.
The administration explained that a report was received at the Operations Room of the General Fire Brigade stating that a fire had broken out in the yard of a 9-story building. Accordingly, firefighting teams from Salmiya and Al-Bidaa centers were dispatched.
It was found that the fire had broken out in wood and sponge in the building square, and it had spread to two apartments.
The department added that the firefighting teams evacuated the residents of the building as a precaution and began to fight and control the fire, while the investigation and prevention teams began their work to find out the causes of the accident and take the necessary measures regarding violations.
