The Surgery Department at the Amiri Hospital held a workshop for specialized surgeries to treat complications of inflammatory bowel disease, with the participation of international experts, such as the Head of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Unit at the Catholic University of Parana, Brazil, Professor Paulo Cozzi, and Professor of Colorectal Surgery at St. Mark’s Hospital London, in the United Kingdom, Professor Janendra Warosavitarny.
The workshop lasted for five days, and included lectures and a scientific conference, on the sidelines of which 30 patients with the disease were examined in the Amiri Hospital and about 20 delicate surgeries were successfully performed, reports a local Arabic daily.
