The Avenues mall, usually bustling with thousands of families, and groups on any given day for its extensive collection of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and designer stores, resembled a ghost town after suspending all activities in light of the Kuwait Government order.
The Kuwait government decided Saturday to shut down shopping malls, arcades, barber shops and salons to further efforts to contain and tackle the threat of the novel coronavirus.
All the popular malls like Marina World, and Al Hamra shopping Centre announced that they are closed to visitors on their official Instagrams in compliance with the order.
As a gesture of goodwill, Tamdeen Group announced that no rent would be collected from all the stores in all of its shopping malls and centers such as 360 mall, Al Kout and Sama Centers given the nature of the challenges faced in this business sector and as Kuwait is in lockdown.
