Kuwait intends to export the first shipment of oil products from the newly operated Al-Zour refinery, the largest refinery in the country, by mid-November.
Two well-informed sources quoting Reuters told a local Arabic daily that 40,000-tonne naphtha would be destined for Asia.
The Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), which operates the refinery, and has a production capacity of 615,000 barrels per day, stated that the first phase of the Al-Zour refinery started its commercial operations after a long delay.
The two sources added that the refinery is also preparing to export between 40,000 and 50,000 tons of jet fuel this month. The first source said that the shipment of jet fuel was sold to a unit of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation in Italy.
