Assistant Undersecretary for Scholarships, Equivalencies and Cultural Relations, and official spokesman at the Ministry of Higher Education, Fatima Al-Sinan, announced Feb 28 is the deadline for receiving applications for registration of scholarships for excellence and direct dispatch for medical specialties for the year 2021/2022.

Al-Sinan in a statement to Al-Qabas said the ministry is working on the completion of the plan for foreign missions for the academic year 2022/2023, which will be announced soon.

Al-Sinan stressed on the need for students wishing to study abroad to obtain official approvals from the ministry’s cultural offices before joining any university, stressing that enrollment should only be in universities accredited by the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education.

Al-Sinan warned students not to fall prey to advertisements that promote study in foreign universities in different countries in their best interests, saying their academic future is at risk if they enroll in universities not accredited by the authority as a result of which their admission will not approved by cultural offices abroad, and they will not be accepted.

Al-Sinan called on students and their parents to check the website of the Ministry of Higher Education on the official social media on Twitter and Instagram to know the procedures and requests related to foreign missions.

Al-Sinan added these accounts were created to answer the inquiries of all students procedures, plans, certificates or registration or inquiries about financial allocations without the need to visit the Ministry’s headquarters.

She explained the Ministry of Higher Education will launch an educational campaign through its accounts on social media during March, highlighting the mission’s plan for the current year.
