His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, is expected to meet with the new ministers of his Cabinet today, Tuesday after giving the final touches for his new government formation.
Sources told Al-Qabas in the new government Fahd Al-Shuriaan will take over the Commerce portfolio, while Youssef Al-Obeid will be Minister of Finance, and Jamal Al-Jalawi Minister of Justice.
Regarding the nomination of members of the National Assembly, the sources indicated MP Mubarak Zaid Al-Aro, Muhammad Obaid Al-Rajhi, Hamad Rouh Al-Din and Issa Al-Kandari are expected to be on the Cabinet list.
Well-informed government sources revealed the Ministry of Interior portfolio is closer to Sheikh Ahmed Al-Mansour as the first option, or Sheikh Thamer Al-Jaber in the event Al-Mansour turns down the offer.
On the other hand, Al-Qabas learned from its sources that the Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah will not be in the new Cabinet, while Dr Khaled Al-Saeed is expected to hold the health portfolio in the new government.
The sources indicated the names of the new government formation will be finalized before being submitted to the political leadership.
