The Municipal Council Osama Al-Otaibi has criticized the decision to prevent him and members of the Municipal Council from entering the new Municipal Council building, to inspect it and check on the progress of work in it.
In a statement to reporters Tuesday Al-Otaibi said that not allowing the president and members of the Municipal Council to enter the building sets a dangerous precedent and said the Minister of Municipality does not have the right to prevent members from entering their building to see the progress of work, reports a local Arabic daily.
Al-Otaibi expressed his reservations about the measures taken by Municipality’s executive body, stressing that their behavior is unacceptable.
An informed source told the daily that the Municipality’s executive team prevented members from entering the building, because it was not officially received from the contractor.
