Adel Al-Badr, currently serving as the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Council of Private Universities, has issued a cautionary statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Saturday.

He directed this warning to both male and female students, as well as their parents, advising them to exercise prudence before entering into any financial commitments with private universities and colleges, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Badr emphasized the importance of verifying that all necessary conditions for commencing studies are met while at the same time stressing that these conditions should be confirmed through a thorough review carried out by the General Secretariat of the Council of Private Universities, which is the sole supervisory entity responsible for granting licenses to private universities and colleges inside Kuwait.

The objective of this oversight is to ensure that the academic disciplines offered by private institutions within Kuwait are accredited.

Al-Badr elaborated that individuals seeking clarification on these conditions can communicate via email or the official website. Alternatively, they can physically visit the premises of the General Secretariat during working hours.

The location of this office is on the 34th and 35th floors of the east wing of Sanabel Tower.

Al-Badr, who holds the position of Secretary-General on a temporary basis, has appealed to students aspiring to pursue education at private universities and colleges within Kuwait under their own financial responsibility.

He advised them to undertake the necessary measures to ensure that these educational institutions align with the academic prerequisites and procedures sanctioned by the Council of Private Universities.
