The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, received a high-ranking delegation from the French hospital “Gustave Rossi”, which specializes in treating cancer diseases, which is visiting the country to complete the process of joint bilateral cooperation in the field of cancer treatments and in the field of scientific research.

The delegation expressed its aspiration to start joint bilateral cooperation, praising the Kuwaiti health system’s great capabilities and expertise in the field of cancer treatment, expressing its gratitude for dealing with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health directly, through official channels saying this will have a distinctive character and looking forward to finalizing the agreement, reports Al-Rai daily.

The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation which can open the door to include multiple programs in the field of cancer treatment and in the field of scientific research, exchange of experiences and transfer of knowledge, training of health personnel, exchange of visits between specialists, and opening various channels of cooperation between the two sides in the next stage, to support Professional practices for the benefit of patients and for the general interest of the country.

The meeting also included discussing aspects of bilateral cooperation to facilitate treatment and medical follow-up inside Kuwait, for Kuwaiti patients who had previously received treatment in France, without incurring the trouble of travel, during periodic reviews inside Kuwait.

Al-Awadhi affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to cooperate with specialized international health institutions in a way that serves the interest of patients and the general interest of the country.

The French delegation included Professor of Oncology at Gustave Rossi Hospital Axel Luisen, Head of the Department of Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation Jean-Henri Bohres, Director of International Relations at the hospital Remy Tioli, Head of the International Treatment Unit Claude Chahine, Coordinator of the International Treatment Department Frida Azman, a plastic and reconstructive surgery specialist and Oncology surgery at Jaber Hospital, Dr. Heba Al-Khashnam, and the meeting also included a number of officials of the French Embassy in the State of Kuwait.
