The price monitoring team of the technical apparatus for supervising commodities and setting their prices in the commercial control and consumer protection sector at the Ministry of Commerce inspected today a number of central markets and markets selling meat and dates in the Shuwaikh area, to determine their commitment to pricing commodities and supplies before the start of the month of Ramadan.

The head of the team, Faisal Al-Ansari, told Al-Qabas that the monitored prices before the start of the month of Ramadan are stable, indicating that the team of inspectors have written undertakings from the shops and markets owners to adhere to the displayed prices, and in the event of any artificial price increase, legal measures will be taken against violators.

He said that there is coordination with the Department of Commercial Control in the “Commerce” to prepare a record of seizures and transfer of the company or the violating entity to the Commercial Prosecution.
