Interacting with news regarding Saudi Arabia imposing customs duties on Kuwaiti goods and exports entering the Kingdom, the head of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Ajlan Al-Ajlan, ruled out the application of such fees.

Al-Ajlan, in a statement to the Emirati “Erm News” website said “According to my information, I do not think that this is true,” stressing that “the commercial relations between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are wonderful, and Kuwaiti products are all welcome,” reports a local Arabic daily.

He added, “We may find some different explanations, but we are in constant contact, whether in the Federation of Saudi Chambers, or between the finance ministers of the two countries who meet regularly,” stressing that “Kuwaiti exports are Saudi exports, and I do not think that they have any restrictions, neither they nor any other Gulf countries goods.

Al-Jarida reported that the Kuwaiti authorities concerned with the industrial sector held several meetings, organized by the Ministry of Finance, to discuss these measures.
