The cost of airline tickets to various destinations has increased during the past few days, reaching an estimated 120% for some destinations, which citizens and residents prefer to travel to during national holidays.

Al-Jarida said some travel agencies expected these prices to increase gradually over the next few days until mid-March before the price index sees a gradual decline and prices return to what they were before the holidays.

A number of owners of travel office told Al-Jarida the increase in prices at this time is normal and is due to supply and demand within the ticket market, especially since reservations have witnessed a significant increase during the current time in conjunction with the continuous decline in Corona infection cases amid assurances from officials in the country that “there will no closure of Kuwait airport again.”

However, they advised travelers to ensure they adhere to all requirements applied by the countries they are heading for and follow health procedures inside the Kuwait Airport during travel and return.
