The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources will reduce feed prices for livestock breeders and producers starting from March, according to the Acting Director General, Eng. Meshaal Al-Quraifa.

According to Al Rai, Al-Quraifa announced through the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday that the price reduction includes barley, rye, and concentrated mixtures, and was achieved through joint coordination with the Kuwaiti Flour Mills and Bakeries Company. The reduction was based on the decline in the global feed stock exchange and the Russian-Ukrainian war, which severely impacted the global grain and food market. The move is expected to stabilize the local livestock and meat market and motivate breeders to increase their production to enhance food security.

Al-Quraifa thanked the Kuwaiti Flour Mills and Bakeries Company’s Board of Directors for their cooperation and for responding to the demands raised by the Authority on behalf of livestock producers and breeders. The new feed prices will come into effect from March, with barley being sold at KD 4 instead of KD 4.250, straw at KD 4 instead of KD 4.950, mixtures and concentrates at KD 3.100 instead of KD 3.550, and concentrate at KD 3.150 from KD 3.600.
