The X social networking platform, formerly Twitter, has reinstated the account of artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, after he was suspended for nearly eight months for violating the platform’s rules prohibiting incitement to violence.

Ye’s account now shows that his last post was dated December 1, the day before his X account was suspended, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday, citing the platform, that Ye would not be eligible to monetize his X account and ads would not appear next to his posts.

Ye’s account was suspended in December, just two months after it was reinstated, after it emerged that one of his previous posts featured a swastika symbol inside the Star of David.

X reinstated Ye’s account after the platform received assurances he would not use it to spread anti-Semitic rhetoric or cause harm, the report said, citing an informed source.

Ye has not posted anything new since his account was restored. X did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
