The government informed the National Assembly that the reason for rejecting the law of adding new segments to “Afiya”, which was approved by the two authorities, is due to a material error in the law — that it does not provide cover for Kuwaiti women.

The sources said that the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Ammar Al-Ajmi told the Speaker of the National Assembly Ahmed Al-Saadoun that the reason for the cabinet’s response to the law “adding housewives to wellness insurance” is because the law does not specifically specify the nationality of the “housewife”, and that the government requested that Kuwaiti women be added to the law and to implement it after rectifying the error, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting reliable sources.
