Chairman of the Board of Directors of the People’s Cooperative Society, Abdullah Abdul Reda, and two members, Abdullah Al-Duwaihes and Haya Al-Maqron, visited the United Nations House at the invitation of the President of the United Nations Human Settlements Program in Kuwait and the Arab Gulf, Dr. Amira Al-Hassan, to discuss the frameworks of cooperation between the association and the program to achieve sustainable development and the new urban agenda to develop area parks and waste recycling programs.

According to a daily newspaper, Abdul Redha confirmed during the meeting, in the presence of the Deputy Head of the United Nations Human Settlements Program in Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf, Qusay Al-Duaij, discussions on the initiative of healthy cities to adopt the Shaab area as the first healthy city in the Hawalli Governorate.

Furthermore, the Board of Directors developed a systematic plan to reach this goal and win the lead by developing parks, raising awareness and providing programs aimed at transforming the area into a health zone within the healthy cities initiative.
