The Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Acting Minister of Education, Dr. Jassim Al-Ustad said that the accreditation of two Turkish universities specializing in human medicine was carried out in accordance with the controls and standards, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In response to a question from MP Dr. Hamad Al-Matar, the minister said: On January 15, 2023, a decision was issued regarding the registration and enrollment of Kuwaiti students at Koc University and Hacettepe University in the Republic of Turkey, based on the controls and standards of the Public Authority for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance, taking into account the following criteria when determining institutions of higher education outside Kuwait:

— The institution must have institutional academic accreditation from one of the bodies specialized in academic accreditation in the country in which the institution is headquartered.
— The institution’s academic programs must be academically and programmatically accredited by one of the programmatic academic accreditation bodies accredited by the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance.
— The level of specialization programs offered by the university should be distinguished, in comparison with the international classification lists approved by the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance.
— The university should have a declared admission and transfer policy applied to all students.
— The university should follow the system of regular attendance during the academic week.
— Reports of field visits to the university by academic delegations.
— Reports of cultural offices related to the university.
— Information obtained from the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance.
