The Acting Dean of Student Affairs at the Kuwait University, Dr. Dhari Al-Huwail, in cooperation with the Center for Scientific Advancement announced the “Astrolab of the Kuwait Sky” trip to observe the stars and explore the Kuwaiti sky in the Al-Salmi desert, for university students.

In an interview with Al-Qabas, he indicated that the trip comes out of the university’s keenness to enrich the university students’ experience, outside the classroom, and mix it with culture and science, pointing out that the event will host a talk about the basics of observing the sky, and the story of the Arab sky with the observers and astro-photographers Muhammad Al-Obaidi, and Abdullah Al-Harbi.

Al-Huwail added that male and female students will be able to photograph and monitor stars with telescopes (some nebulae and star clusters).

It is worth noting that the trip will be over two days, (Friday, June 9 for female students and Saturday, June 10 for male students. The trip is free.
