A lost digital camera has finally been returned to its original owner, along with a collection of old photos it contains, 13 years after it fell into the Colorado River in the United States.

The owner of the camera, Coral Amai, lost all hope of finding her again, after she fell into the river, and with her loss, she also lost hope of recovering her best friend’s wedding and bachelorette party photos, because she had not saved them on the computer, reports Al-Rai daily.

But the blue Olympus camera reappeared after it was found by Spencer Greiner, a Colorado resident, while on a hunting trip.

Greener told KDVR television station in Denver, Colorado, that he found it at the bottom of the water, and almost threw it in the trash because of its dilapidated condition, but after examining it, he managed to extract its memory card and recover a set of photos.

Greiner posted some of the recovered photos to a local Durango Facebook group in hopes of finding the owner of the camera. Have an ugly rubber station wagon at your bachelorette party? Do you know any of these people? If so please contact me. Yesterday I found a camera in Animas while hunting. I would like to return the photos to their owner if I can find him or her. The camera is a blue Olympus that can’t fix much, but I managed to read the card.”

Within hours, people began to identify who was in the photos, and the couple was able to find photos from their wedding. After they contacted the owner of the camera, Coral Amai, she expressed her great happiness with the news.
