98 prisoners, encompassing citizens, illegal residents, and expatriates, were promptly released in accordance with the Amiri pardon, along with 917 others whose sentences were modified through reductions, fine dismissals, and bail adjustments.

Approximately 53 expatriates among the released group have been relocated to a deportation facility for imminent deportation. Notably, 300 illegally resident prisoners with deportation orders were granted reprieve. The Amiri Pardon Committee evaluated around 2,500 cases, aligning with Kuwait’s commitment to human rights, freedom, and justice under the Emir’s benevolent initiative.
