Kuwait’s Ministry of Health (MoH) registered on Sunday 962 additional COVID-19 cases over a 24-hour span, increasing the total number of infections to 170,998, while two fatalities were recorded to raise the death toll to 966.

Plus, active cases amounted to 8,494 with 82 of them in intensive care units, MoH’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA. Health authorities conducted 9,409 swab tests to a total of 1,599,441, which meant that 10.2 percent of the swab tests performed in 24 hours were for infections, he revealed. Dr. Al-Sanad urged everyone in Kuwait to adhere to precautionary measures against the virus and maintain social distancing. Earlier, the ministry confirmed 445 fresh recovery cases, added to a total of 161,538 cured people thus far.
