The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport has approached the completion of Ring Road 6.5, as the final finishing touches are being given to the project.
Al-Jarida has learned from reliable sources the remaining works do not exceed percent but work will be completed on schedule.
Sources from the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport told Al-Jarida 96 percent of the work on the Ring 6.5 project, which is one of the vital arteries that will reduce congestion on the Sixth Ring Expressway once opened for traffic, more so because it is a highway located between the Sixth and Seventh Rings roads.
The project aims to serve the expected increasing vehicular traffic from Sabah Al-Salem University and from Kuwait International Airport after its development. It also aims to reduce congestion on the Sixth Ring Road, and between the existing 602 road running through Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and the new Sabah Al-Salem University.
She explained that the total road length in the project is 18.5 km, and it is one of the vital projects implemented by the PART, and it consists of 8 intersections, one of which was built on the Sixth Ring Road to secure a direct entrance to Sabah Al-Salem University City and Abdullah Al-Mubarak area, in addition to the project includes the construction of 9 pedestrian bridges.
