The Cleaning and Road Occupancy Department in the Jahra Governorate Municipality Branch, under the direction of Muhammad Al-Jabaa, has taken significant action against mobile food trucks in the region.

During the month of July, they removed 30 non-compliant food trucks and 80 neglected cars from the governorate’s areas. Following this, the senior administration in the municipality has devised a comprehensive plan to entirely prohibit the parking of mobile vehicles in the region, especially alongside highways, roundabouts, and residential areas, reports Al-Rai daily.

The decision to ban these mobile food trucks is motivated by several reasons. Firstly, their presence has been causing problems such as obstructing the vision of drivers and creating traffic congestion. Secondly, these trucks often become gathering spots that lead to disruptions and quarrels. Lastly, they have been found to sell damaged and unsafe food products, posing health risks to the public.

Due to the alarming number of violations, approximately 90 percent of these food trucks do not possess licenses issued by the municipality. This non-compliance with regulations has led to numerous complaints from residents about the locations where these carts are stationed.

To address the issue effectively, the municipality aims to prevent the presence of mobile vehicles in residential areas, private properties, and main roads leading to chalets and farms. The plan entails reorganizing and allocating designated areas for these carts or enforcing a complete ban on their operation.

In summary, the ban is a necessary step to address traffic and safety concerns, as well as ensure the sale of hygienic and legal food products in the region. The municipality is taking decisive action to create a safer and more organized environment for its residents.
