The Ministry of Health announced 857 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 91,244 while 2 deaths were reported raising the number fatalities to 548. Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said the breakdown of cases over areas was as followed: 226 in Hawally, 208 in Ahmadi, 156 in Farwaniya, 152 in the Capital and 115 in Jahra.
Al-Sanad said 89 people were in the intensive care units. He added the number of people receiving treatment was 9,042. Al-Sanad said health care workers conducted 5,048 swab tests in the past 24 hours to increase tests since the outbreak to 653,099. Al-Sanad called on the public anew to remain vigilant and to abide by physical distancing and hygienic rules. The MoH announced earlier in the day recovery of 617 people from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours to reach a total of 81,654.
