The Ministry of Health announced 825 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 97,824 while 4 deaths were reported raising the number fatalities to 575.
The figures include people who have had sustained contact with infected individuals and others whose source of infection is being investigated, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus stands at 9,338; 94 of whom are in intensive care units. He pointed out that the number of swabs that were conducted in the past 24 hours were 5968 swabs, bringing the total to 695556.
Some 724 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours to raise the total to 87,911 cases, added the spokesman. Urging the public to be mindful of health precautions, he said following social distancing rules was the only way to ward off the coronavirus.
