The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced 804 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of infections to 17,568, while 3 deaths were reported raising the number of fatalities to 124.

The latest infections were all due to close contacts with previously unveiled confirmed patients or with cases that are still under active surveillance, the ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah AlSanad said in his daily briefing. The fresh cases include 170 Kuwaiti citizens, 261 residents from India, 140 from Egypt, 67 from Bangladesh, while the remaining cases are of other nationalities, he added.

In addition, 167 patients are still receiving medication in intensive care units, while 847 others completed their compulsory institutional quarantine period in the last 24 hours, Al-Sanad noted. Earlier in the day, the Kuwaiti Health Ministry Wednesday confirmed the recovery of 204 additional novel coronavirus patients, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,885 so far.
