Parallel to the government plan to amend the demographics, joint efforts are concerted between the Ministry of the Interior and other concerned parties to rid the country of violators, suspicious elements, and perpetrators of crimes.
Kuwait has deported 800,000 residents, representing 22 nationalities, over the past 28 years (from 1992 until 2020), Security sources revealed to Al-Qabas.
The sources pointed out that the Deportation Department of the Prisons and Correctional Institutions Sector single-handedly deported about 500,000 immigrants, while the rest of the other security departments deported 300000 others, stressing that the administrative deportation is for the public interest.
The sources said that the Ministry of Interior has taken several steps and strict measures, and use advanced devices to restrict the entry for expatriates who enter the country again after their deportation, by changing their names and passports.
The devices were installed in the country’s outlets during 2011, which contributed to the detection of more than 25000 expatriates, the vast majority of them from Asian communities, who tried to enter the country with fake names and new passports after they were deported.
