The Ministry of Interior has completed its preparations to keep pace with the national holidays and celebrations, with a security plan in which about 8,000 security officers and 1,650 patrols from various sectors will participate. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major-General Anwar Al-Barjas, chaired a meeting of field security officers to discuss plans and preparations for the National Day and Liberation Day holidays celebrations.
During the meeting Al-Barjas stressed the need for the security forces to be fully prepared and remain constantly vigilant to impose, what he called, the prestige of the law, and to deal firmly with any negative behaviors or phenomena such as water spraying, seating on the roof of the vehicles, leaning out of windows, sitting on vehicles bonnet, obstructing traffic, parking in No Parking places, parking in places reserved for the disabled, organizing illegal car races, acts of recklessness and vandalism and speeding, reports Al-Rai daily.
He called on the parents to keep an eye on their children and not to allow children to walk on the public road to avoid exposing them to danger. He also called on the security forces to “commit to respectful and generous behavior, initiative, and provision of humanitarian aid to the public.”
Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Security Sector, Major-General Farraj Al-Zoubi, told Al-Rai that the plan to keep pace with the celebrations will be implemented in coordination between the security sectors and on-field security officers and the security director of each governorate will be responsible for supervising the security force in his respective area.
He pointed out several areas have been secured, most notably the Arabian Gulf Street, Al-Khairan, Al-Wafra, Kabd, Al-Subbiya, Jaber Bridge, and Al-Abdali Farms, where about 8,000 security officers will be stationed to secure the areas and sites since these areas are where festive events and gatherings happen, in addition to the Public Security, Rescue and Traffic and Investigations patrols to ensure the safety and security of the participants in the celebrations.
Al-Zoubi stressed that “the marches will not be allowed on the highways,” stressing that “whoever violates this, his vehicle will be seized and impounded, and a violation will be issued against the person, in addition to prohibiting the use of water and foam sprinklers or the and to preserve the safety of the participants.”
