Full Hall, Festive and Competitive atmosphere and large participation was the hallmark of 7th Edition of Dinkar Hindi Awards organized by Maurya Kala Parisar on Friday 7th October 2022 at Aspire Indian School’s Multi Purpose Hall. 102 Students from 13 Indian Schools 24 Teachers 8 Judges and scores of parents and Maurya Kala Parisar members attended the event.

Indian Community School Khaitan (ICSK Khaitan) ran away with 4 of the prizes with their performance. Their student Mohammed Yusuf Khan winning 1st Prize in two categories. Indian Educational School (Bhavans) and Indian Learners Own Academy cornered 3 and 2 Prizes respectively.

There were Competition in three categories Competition 1: Hindi Debate: Class IX to XI: Topic was “ऑनलाइन शिक्षण प्रणाली ने शिक्षा के स्तर को प्रभावित किया है” (Online Teaching has affected quality of education negatively)
1st Prize: Mohammed Yusuf Khan Indian Community School Khaitan
2nd Prize: Shashwat Satapathy Indian Learners Own Academy
3rd Prize : Riddhiraj Kumar Indian Educational School (Bhavans)

Competition 2: Original poetry in Hindi by students: Class IX to XI:

2nd Prize: Saanvitha Reddy Anumandla Indian Educational School
3rd Prize : Ishan Indian Community School Khaitan

Competition 3: Recitation of Hindi poetry of Poets from 21st Century (Year 2000 onward) by students: Class VI to VIII.
1st Prize: Halima Hussain Sayed Indian Community School Khaitan
2nd Prize: Safa Shaikh Indian Learners Own Academy
3rd Prize : Advika Ram Indian Educational School (Bhavans)

The following Hindi Achiever student nominated by schools based on Class X results were awarded Certificates.Jannat Javed, Bader Unnisa, Rupa Majumdar, Israa Fatema, Zara Imtiyaz Mahadiwala, Mahathi C Anantha Padmanabhan, Aliya Ghayoor, Shreya Sharma, Khadija Muhammed Zakaria, Hritika K., Tarun Raja Rajesh, Anamika Pachiriyan, Anushikha Sreeja Vinod.

Chief Guest Sri Praveen Singh Director Financial Services, Al Mulla Group along with Keynote Speaker Poet and Judge Anupama Chaturvedi along with Judges Ms Najneen Ali Naaz Poet, Dr Radhika Guleri Poet, from Writers Forum, Ms Vijaya Nirmala Nair Researcher from KISR and Hindi Language Promoter gave away the prizes. Chief Guest Sri Praveen Singh recited a few lines from the poem written by Maithili Sharan Gupt. Mrs Anupama Chaturvedi said knowledge is not dependent on language. Other poet guests also recited their poems. Dr Navniit Gandhi Author, Teacher and Journalist, Ms Kavita Sarvesh Poet, Ms Geeta Jha and Ms Sujata Kashyap Teacher were other Judges.

Teachers from different schools attended the event supporting and preparing their students. Jumping with joy on winning, losing heart on missing a prize. But the importance of Dinkar Hindi Awards among student and teachers was visible by their intensity in the performances and passion to win. This award brings together teachers, students and authors/poets active in Kuwait. It also had partnered, Indian Embassy’s official Hindi Promotion programs in the past and hopes to join hands again in future.

Maurya Kala Parisar President Abhay Kashyap in his welcome address said that the Association has engaged with Indian Community through three main events Maurya Manch, Ethnic Food Festival and Dinkar Hindi Awards. Cultural Secretary Mrs Sweta Shruti gave vote of thanks.

Active since 1995, it is dedicated to promotion of arts, culture and heritage of the region through events and activities of interest to Indian Community in Kuwait.
