The Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, the registration of 756 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases registered in the country to 167,410 cases, while a death was recorded to raise the total to 961.

The number of people hospitalised with the virus currently stands at 6,906, with 65 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, who revealed that some 9,621 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,557,023.

The ministry had earlier reported that some 557 more people had been cured of the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 159,543. He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus.
