The Ministry of Health announced 751 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 61,185, while 5 death was reported raising the number fatalities to 417.
Ministry spokesman, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said that the fresh cases included 429 Kuwaitis (57.12 percent) and 322 non-Kuwaitis (42.88 percent). In addition, 9,248 virus patients were still receiving necessary medical treatment, including 127 cases in intensive care units, Dr. Al-Sanad pointed out. Medical teams carried out 4,139 Covid-19 tests over the last 24 hours, bringing the total count of swab tests to 471,000 since the outbreak of the virus in the country, he added. Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Health said 601 people recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic in the past 24 hours to raise total recoveries to 51,520.
The breakdown of the infections according to the areas in the country are 253 in Al Ahmadi, 177 in Al Jahra, 155 cases in Al Farwaniyah, 97 cases in Hawali and 69 cases in the Capital.
