Relevant sources told Al-Rai the lease of the berths will allow the boat owners to obtain berths for a specific period of time specified by the customer with the company, in return for paying a specific fee for this period, noting that according to this formula the customer will not be obliged to pay rent for periods that he does not need.

The sources stated what distinguishes the temporary rental product from the old exploitation system is that, according to the current system, the berth remains in the name of the customer and he has the right to assign to others and pay a fee to the company.

The sources pointed out the TEC officials’ move is driven by 3 main factors — this product leads to an increase in the turnover of land anchors for boat owners, ensuring a larger segment benefits from the products rather than a group of traditional beneficiaries; helping the company to expand in the future with this type of leasing, in order to meet the future demands that have been increasing for a while and increasing the company’s revenues by introducing new products.
